डॉ. दीपाली यादव, अंग्रेज़ी विभाग, कला संकाय में सहायक प्रोफेसर, को अमेरिका की येल यूनिवर्सिटी द्वारा प्रतिष्ठित लुईस वाल्पोल फैलोशिप से सम्मानित किया गया है। कला और मानविकी वर्ग, जिसका यह फैलोशिप हिस्सा है, 2026 की वैश्विक क्यूएस रैंकिंग में 5वें स्थान पर है।
डॉ. यादव को दी गई यह फैलोशिप उनके दृश्य अध्ययन में दशक भर के शोध को मान्यता देती है, जिसमें विशेष रूप से उपनिवेशकालीन कार्टून के क्षेत्र में उनका काम शामिल है। उनका शोध, जिसका शीर्षक “ उपनिवेशकालीन अभिलेख का विस्तार: भारत में अंग्रेज़ अधिकारीयों के घरों का चित्रण ” है, बड़े स्तर पर उपनिवेशवाद विरोधी अध्ययन और नारीवादी परियोजनाओं में योगदान देता है, जहां निजी क्षेत्र को सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बराबर महत्व दिया जाता है और किसी देश के इतिहास जैसी महत्वपूर्ण चीज़ की पढ़ाई में बंद स्थानों की भूमिका को प्रभावशाली रूप से स्वीकार किया गया है।
फेलोशिप के दौरान, डॉ. यादव प्रोफेसर रोहित डे, चेयर, साउथ एशियन स्टडीज काउंसिल, मैकमिलन सेंटर फॉर इंटरनेशनल एंड एरिया स्टडीज येल में भी सहयोग करेंगी, और अपने रिसर्च के भविष्य की संभावनाओं पर चर्चा करेंगी।
Dr. Deepali Yadav, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, has been awarded the prestigious Lewis Walpole Fellowship by Yale University in the United States. The Arts and Humanities section, of which this fellowship is a part, is ranked 5th in the global QS Ranking 2026.
The fellowship offered to Dr. Yadav recognizes her decade-long research in visual studies, with specific attention to her work in the field of colonial cartoons. Her research, titled “Expanding the colonial archive: Illustrating homes of English officers in India,” contributes towards larger decolonial studies and feminist projects, where the private sphere is equally prioritized as the public, and the role of enclosed spaces is impactfully acknowledged in the reading of something as important as the history of a nation.
During the fellowship, Dr. Yadav will also be collaborating with Professor Rohit De, Chair, South Asian Studies Council, Macmillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale, and discussing the future potential of her research.
