Findings of Study: The overall risk probability of 10 year risk for developing MI & stroke was increased 7.1% in Sewapuri Block which is non intervention group while in Cholapur Block (Intervention group) the overall risk of probability of 10 year risk for developing MI & stroke was decreased 2.1% due to modular training about life style modification. In other words we can say that probability of 10 year risk for developing MI & stroke decreased in intervention group than non intervention group. All types of risk probability of 10 year risk for developing MI & stroke were decreased 5.0% in mild, 0.6% in both moderate and high risk in Cholapur block while 1.5% in mild, 2.4% in moderate and only 0.4% in high risk in Sewapuri Block. The decreased risk in intervention group due to modular training. Prevalence of diabetes was found to be 7.4%. It was 7.6% in Sewapuri Block and 7.2% in Cholapur Block. Prevalence of overweight and obesity was 28.5% and 9.0% in Sewapuri Block while 22.0% and 7.4% in Cholapur Block respectively. In Sewapuri Block overweight increased 12.0% while in Cholapur Block overweight increased only 4.1% due to life style modification training. Higher overweight and obesity was recorded in females than males in both the Blocks. Prevalence of hypertension was increased from 29.3% to 41.0% in Sewapuri Block group while it was increased from 29.8% to 33.6% in Cholapur Block. The increase in hypertension was found to be 11.7% in Sewapuri Block. It was 7.9% less increase because of life style modification training in Cholapur Block.

In Chandauli, 6-month intervention aimed to assess the effectiveness of double-fortified salt in improving iron biomarkers and hemoglobin concentration among adolescent girls (15-19 years) (part of the RCT). We intervened in 26 villages of one of the blocks of the Chandauli district. To identify the eligible adolescents for the study, screening was done with 1625 girls. We supplied at least 2 kg of salt to every household at the start of the month until 4.5-5.0 months. The blood samples were stored in a day carrier on the day of collection and then transported to the lab of BHU, Varanasi, in cold storage from the point of collection. The adolescent girls between 15-19 years in the selected villages were enumerated. From the list, participants were selected and grouped into two groups. The first group received double-fortified salt and the other iodized salt, along with nutrition education for 4.5-5 months.
