Prof. Jitendra Pandey, Department of Botany, Institute of Science, has been selected by the American Geophysical Union to deliver the prestigious Sir Stephen Schneider Lecture at the AGU Fall Meeting 2025, to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Prof. Pandey has been conferred this honor for his outstanding contribution to understanding of Climate Change, under Global Environmental Change Section. He is the first Asian to receive this honor since the inception of the award. This recognition, awarded annually to one distinguished scientist, is considered one of the most significant honors in global climate science.
